Nick Winks

Nick is a director of the Institute for Turnaround and highly experienced in leading business change projects. His early career saw a variety of senior management roles including CEO of a listed group. He has worked with many businesses to bring about change in operating performance, cash generation and debt structures often as a hands-on Chief Recovery Officer or executive chairman.

He has worked for alongside and opposite workout managers and corporate recovery teams from all the major UK corporate banks and accounting firms. Clients include the banks themselves or private equity and other business owners.

Andy Pearson

Andy is a chartered accountant and experienced business adviser. As a senior partner for 16 years, he formed and led KPMG’s Transaction Services business in the Midlands between 1999 and 2005, building a multi-disciplined team of over 40 senior professionals supporting corporate, PE and bank clients on every type of M&A transaction. He led work on well over 100 M&A or financing transactions over a broad range of markets.

Since 2005 he has worked on several business turnarounds and debt restructuring reducing impaired positions for banks, private equity and other shareholders. He has also acted as an NED for a listed company and two private equity owned businesses, one of which was realised for an IRR of over 70% in 2008.

Paul Herbert

Paul Herbert has a track record for reviving financial performance having managed several international restructuring programmes for global blue chip FTSE, AIM, VC backed and family owned businesses.

He has 20 years experience of effecting fast and measurable improvement at the level of General Manager, Managing Director, Chief Executive and Chairman, including leadership of multi-site multi-nationals and SME businesses in a range of situations: start-up; joint venture; transition; merger and acquisition; integration; site rationalisation; plant closure; factory relocation; business disposal and shareholder exit.

Amanda Allen

Amanda is WayPoint’s legal counsel and a senior corporate finance lawyer with over 25 years’ experience of working with companies and management teams. As a former partner at Pinsent Curtis and Hammonds, where she headed up the Engineering and Automotive Sector Team, she advises on mergers and acquisitions, disposals, reorganisations, joint ventures and restructurings.

Described as dynamic with a “go getting style” by legal publication Chambers & Partners, Amanda provides general business advisory support for clients focusing on exit strategies and continuity planning. Her expertise includes structuring acquisitions and sales as well as other corporate transactions and raising finance. She also works as a consultant and adviser to privately owned and public companies and individual entrepreneurs.
